Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN wins Pulitzer Prize

Kendrick Larmar's DAMN wins Pulitzer Prize.

DAMN, he won.

Kendrick Lamar is a Pulitzer Prize in music winner. Lamar is the first rapper to take home the Pulitzer music award. All previous winners have been jazz or classical artists.  Lamar won for his 2017 album, “DAMN”. The effort also won Lamar a Grammy for Best Rap Album.

Last month, Pitchfork’s Marcus J Moore announced he’s working on The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America. The book is a biography of the singer. Backed by Touchstone Books, they’ve previously released biographies on Bruce Springsteen, Joey Ramone, and Paul McCartney.

The “Humble” singer is known of tracks “Loyalty”, “DNA”, and “Element”, that are all featured on “DAMN.” Lamar was last seen over the weekend performing at this year’s Coachella first weekend, sharing the stage with SZA.
