Dave Grohl Reveals Paul McCartney Plays Drums on New Foo Fighters Album—but that’s not all

McCartney to be Featured on Concrete and Gold Track

Announced a few months back, The Foo Fighters’ newest album Concrete and Gold is due to release this September.  The long-anticipated album  will please fans from all over with special guest slots from the likes of Alison Mosshart of the Kills,  Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman and the recently announced Sir Paul McCartney.

A single track will feature McCartney on the drums.  It seems the Foos have nothing but praise for the former Beatle.  Grohl has worked with McCartney previously for his show Sonic Highways and the whole band has welcomed him with open arms.  Drummer Taylor Hawkins recently commented on the speed at which McCartney caught onto the song.  Apparently it only took two takes to lay down the track.

More to Come

Still, one big surprise awaits fans when the album drops in September.  Grohl has teased the press with the secret that a mega pop star is featured.  The star will be singing backup vocals but Dave isn’t sure whether fans will even figure out who it is. Who it is or what track it’s on is anyone’s guess.  All we know, is there that there’s  more to come.
