2015: A Home Run Hit List for the Toronto Blue Jays #cometogether

If you don’t agree, then I guess you didn’t witness Jose Bautista smashing the baseball in an unforgettable seventh inning for a 3-run home run in last Wednesday’s game five as he and his Blue Jays beat the Texas Rangers 6-3.

Since the Blue Jays are now in the American League Championship Series (ALCS) facing off against the Kansas City Royals, let’s have a listen at some of the Toronto Blue Jays’ favourite songs that are currently on rotation at their home games.

5Our Blue Jays
The Biggs & Barr Show

This past September, 97.7 HTZ-FM hosts Biggs and Barr put together this nice remix of ‘Renegades’ originally recorded by the rock group X Ambassadors.

4First Place
Adam Jesin

Adam Jesin is mixing his own tunes and turning his lyrics into Blue Jay anthems. Here’s Jesin doing his thing on ‘First Place.’

3OK Blue Jays
Keith Hampshire and the Bat Boys

Approved by Blue Jays executive Paul Beeston in 1983, this song is what the Blue Jays represent and is usually used during the seventh inning stretch for every Blue Jays home game. If you don’t know this one, then it’s fitting to say, you’re not from Toronto or from Canada. The bat you hear swinging at the end of the song is none other than legendary Blue Jays first baseman Willie Upshaw.

2Hooked On A Feeling
Blue Swede

If you didn’t know this song before this Blue Jays season or last years box-office smash Guardians of the Galaxy, then you’ll have to go way back to 1973 because that’s when it was released. Blue Swede’s ‘Hooked on a Feeling’ reached number one in the United States in 1974 and remained on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 18 weeks.

1Come Together
The Beatles

The 2015 Toronto Blue Jays and their fans have used the hashtag #cometogether every time the Jays are mentioned online (specifically Twitter) so it’s only fitting to end this playlist with the originators of the ‘Come Together’ – The Beatles.

It’s been one exhilarating summer ride for the Toronto Blue Jays and their fans. All we can do is support and cheer as loud as we can and hope the Toronto Blue Jays can finish the post-season with a fall classic 2015 World Series win.
