According to The Wall Street Journal, The streaming giant is planning to launch an ad-free tier in a few months, in an attempt to better battle with its rivals.
Right now, Hulu is $7.99 a month for its top tier service. With the Showtime add-on, it comes to $8.99 a month. With the new tier, allegedly titled NOAH (No Ads Hulu), the price would go up to $12-$14 a month, placing it higher than Netflix’s cheaper plan that comes with all the same perks.
They have yet to deny or confirm the price package that is supposed to start in the fall. However, if they want to get serious about competing with other streaming services, the ad-free idea would be a good place to start.
In other Hulu hoopla, the service has aquired the rights to The Walking Dead spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead.
