Harris was a leader in bringing the look of 1960s Swinging London to life on film. She dressed The Beatles for A Hard Day’s Night and Help!. “I must be one of the few people who can claim they have seen John, Paul, George and Ringo naked,” she once noted about the her unique experience.
Harris won an Oscar for the 1965 film Darling starring Dirk Bogarde and Julie Christie. She also got a British Film Award for the 1966 Michael Caine comedy The Wrong Box.
Harris passed away on Saturday, at a London hospital after a battle with a chest infection, said Jo Botting, a British Film Institute curator.
Harris is survived by her goddaughter, Serena Dilnot.
