Gene Simmons, WWE Form a Horrific Tag Team

…to make horror flicks.

WWE Studios and Gene Simmons are teaming up to launch Erebus Pictures, a label that will finance and produce horror movies. The name, Erebus originates from the Greek God “representing the personification of darkness”.

The WWE/Simmons team have a three-picture deal,  with the first one being,  Temple.

“The horror genre continues to fascinate me as it proves to be endlessly thrilling and engaging for audiences,” said Simmons.

“Horror films fall into a genre that thrives on genuine passion, and I believe this partnership truly capitalizes on that sentiment and supports our vision,” added Michael Luisi, president of WWE Studios.

The studio says a director for Temple will start filming this summer. Meanwhile,  their second feature will go into production later this year.

WWE Studio’s last film, 2013’s The Call, starring Halle Berry earned $68 million worldwide.
