Hi-Fi Streaming Comes to Canada

Tidal lets users stream high fidelity, lossless tunes that sound a lot closer to CDs and vinyls than those clunky, compressed .mp3s. The service features a library of over 25 million songs, and if you get bored with that it also gives you access to about 75,000 high-quality music videos.

Of course, with premium-sounding tunes comes a premium on price. Tidal costs about $20 a month, or roughly twice the price of its rivals, like Spotify. But, because they want your business, the company is offering a free seven-day trial of the service.

Not everyone can easily tell the difference between high-fidelity and compressed music. So, take the test we wrote about a few weeks ago to see if it’s worth signing up for the trial.
