Bruce Springsteen and Tony Sirico Are Set To Appear On Steven Van Zandt’s Series ‘Lilyhammer’

You may find it odd that we’re not hearing ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band announce any concert dates this summer but that’s because he will now be taking a swing at acting.

According to Deadline.com Springsteen, 64, will hop on board with Springsteen’s E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt who’s co-writing and is the executive producer of the show Lilyhammer.

With the third season in production, Van Zandt plays a priest, while Springsteen will be portraying the owner of a mortuary. This will be The Boss’ acting début besides doing a cameo in the John Cusack movie High Fidelity but he played himself, not a fictional character as he reportedly does here.

In addition to Springsteen’s appearance, Frank Sirico, 72, Van Zandt’s former Sopranos co-star, will also join the show in a recurring role.
Lilyhammer follows Frank Tagliano, (Van Zandt) a New York mobster who relocates to the town of Lillehammer, Norway under the Witness Protection Program, after testifying against the new mafia head.
The show will be shot in New York and Lillehammer.

Springsteen is also set to release a book in the fall called Outlaw Petewhichis based on the lyrics to his 2009 song of the same title.

The third season of Lilyhammer is set to air on Netflix sometime this fall.
