KISS will sell anything. Gene Simmons once told me that there are more than 7,000 branded KISS items, ranging from condoms to coffins. He has no trouble making money on anything–anything–associated with KISS, knowing full well that the faithful and their money can be torn asunder with the craziest of trinkets.
But even Gene must be feeling a little dirty about this one. A piece of gum chewed by Gene on live TV has sold at auction for $247,719 US.
That’s right: a quarter of a million dollars for some pre-chewed gum with Gene Simmons’ spit all over it.
Yes, the money will go to charity–but still.
