Sony’s New Camcorder is for Musicians

It used to be that shooting a music video required dozens of people and millions of dollars. Not any more, obviously, especially when you can shoot everyone on a Flip or smartphone and stitch everything together yourself on a laptop.

That approach is fine — up to a point.  But what if you need something more?  Enter the Sony HDR-MV1 Music Video Recorder.  Yes, that’s what it’s called.

Equipped with a 16-megapixel 120-degree wide angle Zeiss lens and high-quality built-in stereo microphones, the HDR-MV1 is being promoted as “ideal for band rehearsals, practice sessions and live gigs.” And it’s just $300 USD.
