The episode in which Sheldon (Emmy winner Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) finally made whoopie was the most watched episode of Big Bang Theory since the Season 7 premier in 2013. The episode entitled The Opening Night Excitation also ranked the most watched in series history and the fifth most watched broadcast of a scripted show on record.
The only broadcasts that beat it last year, according to CTV, were Super Bowl XLIX, the International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships final and the 87th Academy Awards.
The show averages 3.5 million viewers. The December 17th episode got 5.7 million eyes, while Sheldon gave it to Amy.
