It was reported Wednesday that Elton John’s heart-shaped glasses were taken from the Memphis Tennessee Rock’n’Soul Museum. Cops were called to the museum Tuesday night, when employees noticed the glasses were missing.
The case that was holding the shades had no real damage, noted the officials. The officers say the thieves must have had a set of tools to remove the item from the glass holder.
The flamboyant rock music treasure is valued at about $2,000.
By the way, this week marked the 45th anniversary of when Elton John began his first World Tour. It was April 21 1970 when John embarked on a road trip promoting his self-titled second album. Bassist Dee Murray and drummer Nigel Olsson went along for the ride.
