Liam Gallagher disbands Beady Eye and joins The Who Band…for cancer

Liam Gallagher will perform at Shepherds Bush Empire in November in his first live appearance since he split up his band Beady Eye.

The ex-Oasis and now ex-Beady Eye frontman, will be making his comeback next month as he’ll perform with The Who Band for the Teenage Cancer Trust concert.

Gallagher, 42, is one of 15 performers who will take the stage during the show.

Other artists that are scheduled to join The Who Band will be Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Wilko Johnson, Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson, Manic Street Preachers’ James Dean Bradfield, Geddy Lee of Rush, The Strypes, Brody Dalle, Tom Odell, Amy Macdonald, Andy Burrows and Rizzle Kicks.
The Who’s Band will feature Simon Townshend, Pino Palladino, Billy Nicholls, Frank Simes, Loren Gold, John Coury and The Who’s drummer Zak Starkey, who recorded and toured with Liam Gallagher in Oasis during the mid-2000’s. Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey won’t be performing for the occasion.
Gallagher is lined up to sing a cover of The Who’s ‘My Generation’ which Oasis recorded and played live with Starkey.

Gallagher officially disbanded Beady Eye via Twitter over the weekend.  They released two albums, Different Gear, Still Speeding (2011) and BE in 2013.

The special Teenage Cancer Trust charity gig in London will take place at Shepherds Bush Empire on November 11th with each artist performing a song of their own choice from The Who’s back catalogue.

Tickets for An Evening Of Who Music In Aid Of Teenage Cancer Trust go on sale this Friday, October 31st through Ticketmaster.
